Neurological development assessments
These assessments provide valuable insights into your child’s neurological health, identifying areas that may be developing optimally and areas that could benefit from additional support.
The results of the assessment guide us in creating a tailored care plan for your child. This plan may include chiropractic care focused on improving neurological function, as well as recommendations for other supportive therapies. We collaborate closely with you and, when appropriate, with other health professionals to ensure your child receives the comprehensive care they need to thrive.
Our goal is to support your child’s growing brain and nervous system, empowering them to reach their full potential in every stage of development.
Our assessment includes:
- History of concern and/or diagnosis
- Gross motor milestones and development
- Cerebellar examination
- Cranial and neurological examination
- Retained primitive reflexes
Who needs a neurological development assessment?
Any child at any age is welcome to come in for an assessment, it is a wonderful way to ensure their brains and bodies are maturing at the same rate and offer the best pathway for their own development. However, it is especially beneficial for kids who:
- Have an ADHD or ASD diagnosis
- Struggle with emotional control or impulsivity
- Have difficulty in academic areas including spelling and basic math
- Find interacting with peers or social interactions hard
- Have delayed speech
- Have challenges with coordination and clumsiness
- Show sign of hyperactivity or inattentiveness
